Christmas Disco!Raphoe Family Resource Centre will hold its Christmas Disco on Friday 13th December 2019 in the Presbyterian Hall at 7PM. DJ Marty will be spinning the tunes and Santa himself may make an appearance!! Also some special guests have been invited!!! Should be a good night’s fun for all the family. Everyone welcome!Something Special Group – Drop-In Support MorningIf you are a parent/guardian of a child or children with a physical/sensory/intellectual disability; Autism Spectrum Disorder; dyslexia/dyspraxia; or delayed communication and feel you need to talk to others in similar situations please feel free to come along. Types of support given are listening ear, help with applications, information sharing, and signposting to other support services and interventions. Toddler GroupLittle Smiles with Big Dreams Toddler Group will meet every Thursday from 10.30am to 12noon in the Presbyterian Hall, Meetinghouse Street, Raphoe. Anyone who is in the care of a child parent(s)/guardian/aunt/uncle/child-minder or grandparent is welcome. Toddler groups are a great way to enhance your little one’s confidence and meet others of similar age. A light snack is provided for the kids while adults can enjoy a wee cuppa and chat! Cost €2 per family.Raphoe Boxing ClubThe boxers and officials at the local boxing club would like to tender a sincere thanks to all the local indoor footballers “The Gym Gang” for their generous sponsorships towards a CCTV security system at the boxing club and this system also covers the local children’s play park and is greatly appreciated by all the boxing club and play park committees. The boxing club hosted a bumper tournament on Saturday last in Deele College when they had as their guests a Tenbury Wells selection from England. We would like to thank the bumper crowd who turned up on the night, all the generous sponsors, the caretakers at Deele College and all the boxers who travelled long distances to help make the night a huge success, it is greatly appreciated.Vincent’s Raphoe Eveningwear Sale Vincent’s shop in Raphoe has received a consignment of new stock from a bridal boutique. Raphoe Family Resource Centre, supported by DLDC Tus Scheme have a helping hands project were odd jobs can be carried out such as grass cutting, path clearing, tidy ups, painting etc. Only outdoor work is permitted. Come along and join the group for a walk and a cuppa!!Seniors Alert SchemeRaphoe Family Resource Centre is registered under Pobal’s Senior Alert Scheme to provide personal alarms to those over 65 years living alone for significant periods of time during the day, or is a carer to someone else in their household. The purpose of the scheme is to enable older persons of limited means to continue to live securely in their own homes with confidence, independence and peace of mind providing them with a free personal monitored alarm which can be worn as a pendant or around their wrist like a watch. Would you like to learn about computers?Are you from the Raphoe area? Donegal ETB will be starting a beginner’s computer course on Tuesday 24th September from 10am-1pm in the Volt House, Raphoe. On this course you will build your knowledge and skills, and gain more confidence in working with computers. This is a part-time course, free of charge and delivered to small groups in a relaxed atmosphere.
